Clean water and dust out of your iPhone speaker
Muffled sound after a splash or a dusty pocket? Low-frequency tones make the speaker vibrate, which can help push droplets and dust out.
Run a cleaning
- Take off your headphones — don't use this while wearing them.
- Open Speaker Cleaner and choose water or dust.
- Turn the volume up, place the phone speaker-down on a flat surface and keep it still.
- Let the cleaning finish. Repeat once if the sound is still muffled.
If your iPhone got wet
- Tap it gently against your hand with the charging port facing down.
- Leave it somewhere dry with some airflow.
- Don't use a hair dryer, compressed air or rice, and don't push anything into the ports.
- Wait until it's dry before charging.
