How to compress a video on iPhone
Compressing a video re-encodes it at a lower quality to save space. For most videos you'll barely see the difference on a phone screen.
Compress a video
- Open the Video Compressor and allow access to your videos.
- Pick a video — the list shows how much space each one could save.
- Choose a compression level.
- Tap Compress and keep the app open until it finishes.
- The compressed copy is saved to Photos.
FAQ
- Does compressing delete the original?
- Not unless you choose to. After compressing you can remove the original, which then sits in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
